Few neighborhoods capture quintessential Seattle like Inverness does; tall evergreen trees, expansive panoramic views of Lake Washington and the North Cascades, fresh air, wide open streets, classic Northwest Contemporary architecture, lush native foliage, and the bluest skies you could ever imagine (when the clouds part). Take all of that and add an absolutely picturesque golf course (Sand Point Country Club), and you’ve got my newest listing in Inverness.

The lot, one of the very best in the entire Inverness neighborhood, sits at the very top of Inverness, which imbues it with several qualities that many of the other Inverness neighborhood homes do not possess. Despite nearly floor-to-ceiling windows in the living and dining areas, because the house sits above the street (and the street sits above the rest of the neighborhood), there is a great deal of privacy in these rooms, even without drapes or blinds. Most of the homes in Inverness have stunning, panoramic views of the Cascades and Lake Washington, but because of its location at the top of the neighborhood, the views from 4845 NE 85th are almost completely unobstructed and include pleasant territorial views of the rest of the neighborhood.

The final reason that the houses on the South side of NE 85th Street,  sitting at the top of Inverness are among the best in the neighborhood is that they are the only houses in Inverness that are situated on Sand Point Country Club. There are approximately 120 houses in all of Inverness and only 21 of them back up to the golf course. Of course there are other houses on Sand Point Country Club. There is actually a neighborhood ”inside” the golf course. But most of those houses are smaller, older, and lack the lake and mountain views that the Inverness golf course homes feature. So unless you’re looking for a neighborhood with more crime, location really doesn’t get any better than this. . . and the three most important words in real estate are (in no particular order), location, location, and location!
